World Sight Day 2015

World Sight Day 2015

World Sight Day is the main international event for raising awareness about avoidable blindness and vision loss. World Sight Day is run by Vision 2020: The Right to Sight, a joint global initiative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).

This year World Sight Day (WSD) takes place on Thursday 8 October, with a focus on inspiring Australians through images.

#snapforsight is a beautiful social media campaign encouraging Australians to focus on what they cherish and imagine what life would be like if they could no longer see that person, that pet, watch that game or enjoy that sunset.

Many Australians are continuing to take their sight for granted, linking vision loss and blindness to something that only happens to other people.

Vision 2020 hope that by securing thousands of images across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, Australians will be reminded about what they would miss if they no longer had their sight and hopefully make getting their eyes examined a health priority.

For this campaign to be successful they need your support. For more information on how you can get involved click here or contact info@vision2020australia.org.au
